Friends of the Lion – Established 1968
The Weaving International Friendship Foundation which includes Friends of the Lion has for almost 50 years helped people living in the UK, South Africa, North America, Australia and New Zealand to reunite with family overseas. Founded in 1968 by Stuart Weaving a Yorkshire businessman, and initially run out of a small office in Cardiff, it has grown to the largest reunion club in the world with over one million family reunions to its credit.
Friends of the Lion is an association for South Africans who have family and close friends living in the United Kingdom. When you join, you will be part of our Emergency Travel Benefit. This will give you peace of mind in knowing that should your nominated family member in the UK meet with a serious accident that causes death or serious injury, we will provide an airticket up to the value of R15 000. Membership is only R150 per year and you can apply right here.
